Clams sukka or Kubbe sukke or marwai sukka is very popular delicacy from coastal region.. Clams are cooked with spicy coconut masala then served with steamed rice along tomato saaru or dal …My mother always makes this clams sukka with one shell intact as it imparts flavour to the finish dish. As a child I used to relish these clams shell sukka and always look forward when fresh clams are in season.

Ingredients
Clams Sukka
1) 500gms Clams(cleaned with one shell intact)
2) 2 tbsp Cooking Oil
3) 1/4 tsp tsp Turmeric
4) 1 Cup Fresh Coconut
5) 7-8 Dry Byadgi Red Chilies
6) Small piece of Tamarind
5) 6-7 Garlic cloves
6) 1tsp Cumin
7) 6-7 peppercorn
8) 2 tsp Coriander seeds
9) 1/2inch cinnamon
10) 2-3 cloves
11) 1 Big Onion Chopped
12) Salt to taste
note:
* Spices can be increased depending on preference.
* Quantity of water can be increased or reduced depending on the consistency one like.
* sometimes clams can be salty so be moderate with salt.
