Clan Eshin Tips to Make You Unstoppable

I just started my first playthrough of clan eshin and I'll have to say they're my favorite skaven faction so far. Those armor piercing gutter runners are so fun and having Snitch assassinating heroes on the battlefield is so satisfying

Did they change the start in the past year? I start with an Eshin Sorcerer and not a Warlock Engineer.

I keep forgetting that Eshin lowers the settlement rank needed for assassin buildings.

Its the most OP thing about eshin, if you level up x4 of those in a province (kunlan) with a bell and sniktch's contract skill your rolling out level 24 assassins by like turn 15-20 😮

I am struggling to get past turn 20 with Deathmaster Snikch at the moment, I keep getting overwhelmed by the number of Cathay factions declaring war on me before I unlock poison runners, warp lightning cannons, etc. Sometimes even the orcs in the starting province give me trouble if I can't lure them into ambushes just right. Definitely way different than facerolling with Ikkit Claw's weapons teams. I super appreciate all the skaven videos, it's just a bit of a learning curve for me to pilot stealth armies.

With Skaven food manipulation, you should be able to get a Tier 5 settlement by like turn 12 very easily. Just take food option for everything you can, rites, battles etc. Then when you got like 115, abandon your main settlement (Khanhu or something), and re-settle it at tier 5. You will be at a food deficit for a while, but worth it for tier 5 so early

It gets really hard to get more than one engineer in the game now, since you get more only through a tier 5 building :( On the other hand you can spam assassins, and the Eshin sorcerer is not half bad together with Snikch.

Are you using any AI mods? For me, Cathay has not been much of a problem. You avoid waging war with factions that are allied to each other, or get allied to factions Cathay hates, and give the most important ones some gifts. And keep always strong military, so they don't perceive you add weak and kill you. I would suggest rushing north after taking out your starting enemies. I was able to get all the way to the wall before even meeting the 'real' Cathay factions, and they only went to war with me when it was inevitable that I would soon go to war with them. But I use the AI mod Deepwar AI, might affect it. With Hecleas mod both me and Cathay got crushed by the chaos dwarfes and Vilitch. Cathay was dead before they became a problem.

Turn him into food early so you dont have to deal with him later when you are trying to move out of the region
