My music teacher was a wonderful woman from Warren, PA. and this is one of the wonderful songs I was proud to sing under her tutelege. She taught us so much more than singing. Poise, Grace and respect for each song. Zora King was destined for so much more than our small community, and was our blessing as a voice and piano teacher. Thank you Mrs. King for more than you will ever know!

This is one of my favorites. I wish this song as well as other good Christmas music was played more.

As a member of our high school choir, our music teacher Miss Avril, we learned this song and many others under her tutelage! I learned to love all she taught but this song has been on my brain for the last few weeks!

Indeed, it is a haunting and mournful song, yet it is uplifting and so God glorifying. Thanks for sharing this video. By the way, I have a son living in North Carolina. Lovely state. Great people. Lots of Christian believers there. God bless. And thanks so much for sharing this video. Warmest regards, JJF

so much of this music was lost... once I played in a jam session with a 97 year old fiddler who stayed late in the the night. After most of the group left he started playing old fiddle songs that his 95 year old great grandfather taught him when he was 9. how I wished I had recorded that hour.

Thank you Mrs. Quisinberry for teaching me this beautiful song when we still allowed God in our schools.

So good to see mayor bill Hughes telling the story about this beautiful child Annie Morgan singing her song “I wonder as I wander to John Jacob Nile’s this child and mother and her father who was a minister were living destitute on the street in Murphy, n.c. 1933

I've been through Murphy many times, on the way to Bryson City, Cherokee, and Maggie Valley, North Carolina. This is the town where they found Eric Robert Rudolph, suspect for the woman's clinic bombing in Birmingham, and centennial park during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. It's on highway 74, right down from Andrews, NC.
