I think the clap clap demon IS the security system, I mean think about it, the demon attacks the player in a house that's not his, and by clapping the monster identifies if it's the user or not, and the disappearances are the cause of people not knowing how to use the product.

Fun fact: if you look at the note on the fridge, it not only tells your your playing as a guy named rob, bit you were also supposed to mop the floors. If you pick up the note, it dosent show these two details. Also, i have a theory the "dog" is the clap monster.

I feel like the motion detected lights is a fair theory, but I do think that they were likely activated by the monster in the story as whenever they turn on, as said, you have to clap your hands again, which perhaps means they're not motion activated.

I'm going to assume it's a creature that only hunts at night it seems to be sensitive to light it literally can't go near it, It could be a Shadow Demon or a creature from another World I definitely likes to eat meat obviously and enjoys breaking its food or people to eat them. And since I can disappear into darkness that means it can literally hide anywhere in darkness and has been killing for a while.
