didnt see it but did u counter the dwell time of the piston too in your tdc?

Hey what tool did you use to measure the 2mm before TDC and piston stop? I just bought a za50 fully built with 21mm OKO and thus HPI and want to start over on the timing. Not sure if previous owner did it correctly. Thanks

'Effin christ!!!! Manufacture a piston stop. Bring piston up against stop, make a temporary mark on whatever it has for a flywheel directly under whatever it has for a pointer--or make one Rotate engine opposite direction, same as above. Now you have two marks some distance apart, halfway between is TDC. "Figure out" where you want timing AKA XX BTDC. Measure circumfrence of flywheel CAREFULLY with a flex tape, figure "degrees per inch" and mark the wheel both for your empirical TDC mark and the mathematically "figured" advance mark. Set timing visually using the new mark with the new system, then use an automotove timing light to verify "iz whachaw gots". And it's done. And it's accurate. And it WILL run.
