Clara Bow in "My Lady of Whims" (1925) - reels 3, 5, 6 only - from 16mm Kodascope print

Clara Bow in "My Lady of Whims" (1925) - incomplete Kodascope 16mm print made in the 1930s for the home-movie rental market; some scenes tinted. Released by Arrow Pictures Corporation. Directed by Dallas M. Fitzgerald. Starring Clara Bow; with Donald Keith, Carmelita Geraghty, Lee Moran, James Severn, Francis McDonald.
In 2021 I acquired a small stack of vintage Kodascope 16mm prints of silent films. One of the films was a partial print of MY LADY OF WHIMS starring Clara Bow - just reels 3, 5 and 6. The print does no one any good sitting on a shelf, and so I've had it transferred in HD so that I can share it here.

I thought I’d do a comparison between your reels and the Grapevine print. The Grapevine print appears to contain just over 12 minutes of footage (at a slower speed than your reels) from the first and second reels before your reels kick in, including the opening credits, introduction of characters, etc. The footage in your reels from 0:12 to 1:15 is missing from Grapevine’s print. At 9:22 right after Rolf walks out the door there’s a closeup of Bart that appears in the Grapevine print’s reel 3 but not in yours. Then most (or maybe all?) of reel 4 (the “Martov Party scene) is in the Grapevine print. The footage in your reels from 10:27 to 11:00 is missing from the Grapevine print, as is the footage from 12:18 to 18:37, and the footage from 26:01 to 26:26. At 27:14, right after the shot of Rolf jabbing his finger toward Bart, there is an intertitle in the Grapevine print that says “And don’t let me catch you speaking to my fiancée again.”, and then a closeup of Prudence, both of which are missing from your print. Then at 27:51 your footage ends, midway through a shot of Prudence and Bart, but the Grapevine print continues that shot for a few more seconds and then it cuts to a wide shot of him running towards her, then to a tighter shot of them embracing, then to a shot of Wayne and Mr. Severn, then back to the shot of Prudence and Bart, then an intertitle that says “We’re going back to the village as one - and I’ll make ‘Tea for Two’.”, then a closeup of them kissing, then the fade-out, then The End titje card. I’m betting your reels could be used to reconstruct the longest known version of this film, as you’ve got quite a bit of valuable footage that’s missing from the circulating cutdown version of the film. It would be amazing if My Lady of Whims could get restored from the best available extant materials, and your three reels are in way better quality than what we’ve seen, and not cropped on all four sides like the circulating version. Thank you for sharing it. Fingers crossed a restoration can happen someday!

@WaverBoy yeah, I'd like to see that, same with the new Napoleon cut that's 7 hours. I compared this cut with the longest available ones on youtube and this one contains a few scenes not included and vice versa.

​@@WaverBoy Update: so I am currently working on combining this, the Grapevine Cut, and the hour long cuts on yt to create the most complete possible cut I can with the highest quality scenes I can find. So far each of the 3 versions has at least 1 unique scene, making me wonder how much else is out there.
