Hey just came across your video. I'm a CPA and full time youtuber/entrepeneur! Seems we have a lot in common! Great video I watched it all!!! So many confusing infos on the internet about this.. my business is small but growing quite fast and dont want to lose track once it explodes.. considering quickbooks!

Yeeeess to all of this. And yes, big *eye roll* with inventory. Overall QBO is great, services isn't, and it's so critical to make sure you're moving into QBO when and how it makes sense for you. Thanks for sharing Hannah!

Yep! Great information. Definitely agree with you on QBO customer service, I do chat instead but it’s still a long wait and sometimes I would get disconnected in the middle and I will have to start over but in my opinion is better than calling with QBO

Agree! I should have mentioned that! Thanks!!

10 years ago I paid $300 dollars for three years of Quickbooks. Now, it's $100 a month. That's a 12X cost increase. Not a penny of that money was put into customer service.

I have used quickbooks for years. I do not like the online version and do not advise it for my clients. I feel it is not user friendly. I would move to it only if it was set up exactly like the desktop version as I do recognize how convenient it would be for accessing it anywhere With that said, their payroll fees are really high! My 50 employees clients are paying about $120 a month plus the annual fee of $475ish. So they are paying about $1800 a year. Which seems high but I have a dentist client that has 10 employees and use ADP and paid over $4000 last year. They do use their time keeping system and ADP automatically files their payroll tax reports etc.

QBO can be really hard when you are used to desktop! I find that once you use it for a while, you can get used to it, but the transition is hard! All payroll solutions are pricey, but your client paying QB payroll is actually really reasonable! ADP/Paychex are definitely the highest. I like Gusto, but it adds up too!

I really like your presentation style. I’m glad you have a love for QB but it’s just not intuitive for me. It’s difficult to get it flowing for me. Also it’s expensive compared to wave. My business is small but very busy. Wave pro is what I’m using right now and it’s doing the job. 16.00/month is so much better than 65.00. I loved xero when I used it but kept having bank connection problems.

Anyone have advice for multiple businesses (3-4)? Does that trigger multiple subscriptions when they are separate but affiliated and ready to transition them all from Excel?

Of course it does! Quickbooks is the greediest company in the world. They could give a shit about their users.

Just to add, can you do a video about QuickBooks Covid-19 Employee leave with ARPA ( April 1 - Sept 30 2021 ) and how to correct payroll taxes since Employer social security is no longer waived but QuickBooks support came after 20 days April 1 and payroll taxes must corrected.

Do you have experience with their payroll system or the HR support? Are they worth it or do you recommend bambooHR or paychex?

With cloud based, I don't think it matters, but I'm unsure. Anyone!??

Intuit and QuickBooks in particular has abandoned small business that put them at the top. The SAAS model is abysmal for businesses that make less about $2M a year. I don't mind so much that their customer service has went down the tubes (since it's always been in the gutter), but the pricing is terrible.

Don’t buy quickbooks. It is so grossly overpriced. The move to QBO took software costs from $299/5 years to what would be $17k /5years as a bookkeeper w/7 clients. That and the interface is horrible compared to desktop. Accountants like the kickback they get from those discount codes that convert to sales as well as the ease of logging into client books, but for the bookkeepers and business owners, QBO is so much worse than the already miserable desktop versions. That’s why they will no longer sell QB desktop versions after sept. 2024. No one else wants to move to QBO, so they have to force it. If you buy QBO you are paying for Super Bowl ads. QBO is one subscription per company, where QBD is one subscription per seat. Don’t get me started on their lack of support. Business owners beware!
