Interesting vacuuming truck. That looks a pretty formidable wheelbase, bettrr not cut inside it in corners

Watching from Tonawanda NY. My my, that looked closer than it probably was in fact. My view of the Niagara Sub is obstructed by the trees which needed a bit of time to fully emerge.

Glad the guy moved the cones out of the way so the train didn't get knocked off the tracks.

The engineer probably was in little league softball and the coaches play kept telling him "good eye. Steady. good eye" because he really didn't ease off. Passing this along to you and any viewer that might be interested in a nice presentation on the New York Ontario and Western. It even includes some slides from the last full run in color. Go to Wisconsin Chapter NRHS. April 2024 program NYO&W. There are also nice Sharp black and white pictures to supplement it

I have never been able to figure the situation out. Which came first? The neighborhood or the railroad tracks? I can’t imagine the neighborhood being OK with having tracks built right down the street, and I can’t imagine developers building houses around a railroad track.
@csrrjefflloyd6496Ай бұрын
Most likely, the tracks were first.
@railroadingrambler218Ай бұрын
First came the neighborhood. Then the railroad in the late 1860s. The locals sued to stop the railroad but, as you can see, they lost.
