I just found your site when I noticed Utica, NY. I grew up in Wampsville, NY about 150 yards north of the old main line New York Central (PennCentral) before the line was relocated further north in the last 60's to eliminate grade crossing. I have lived in the south for the last 30 years but your videos do remind me of days working in Central New York going in and out of Utica to pick up materials. Makes me a little home sick but not bad enough to ever move back to lousy weather and high taxes. Please keep posting CNY railroading videos.

All these small businesses in the UK lost their rail connections in the 60s. It all goes on the roads, well the surviving businesses. So much is now just imported, by road of course. Well done USA for keeping it.

I suspect street running trains have been held up before though by a major incident on a road. be it the fire department fighting a fire or a car accident and the RR having to wait until the police open the road.

I found this place on Google and I wonder if they ever just in the morning take a locomotive up to Dunkins. I am of course joking, as I am sure that violates several pages of rules. does a switch like that have drainage for the handle or do they sometimes have to deice it in winter. Must require frequent greasing too because I am sure the road salt is not nice to it.

7:39 What bell is heard? Not heard before. We have seen plenty of railcars approaching and going by. Aim forward. Had there been a mishap you would have missed it.

I liked the this video which bring back memories of living upstate. I'm dismayed to see that all but one freight car has been vandalized with graffiti.

Fantastic footage of the Susquehanna engine travelling through the neighborhood and working the customers. Loved the shot where you were driving the tracks behind the engine and had no idea about the RR traffic lights... That cool pick up was a nice touch too.. Outstanding work out there !!

Living in Tupper Lake 30 plus years, their is nothing here to see. They took the best part of the tracks out that led to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. No Taxi, save your money unless you want to be bored to death!
