That's a cultural thing with us. When someone becomes rich in our family, everyone thinks they're rich also and we fall for the generational guilt trip about taking care of everyone. You have to say NO.

All of this sounds familiar. Unfortunately, mu son fits this mold and he's 33 years old. our relationship is strained and have been for the past couple of years. I have done everything I could for him; gave him security deposit on multiple apartments, helped him get back his cars that were repossessed, got him a lawyer when his baby momma wouldn't let him see the baby, paid his rent multiple times, food, gas etc, etc, etc. Now he can't stand me because I told him no the last time, he asked me for money. Let him stay mad, cut these people off if you have to. I HAVE!!

I didn’t hear of her until the video the other day…. My family that I grew up with did the same… I am only cool with 2 cousins out of 20! Luckily, I didn’t give any family members anything and had to separate. I didn’t have good boundaries back then, I do now. Some family members are getting older and sadly, they will have to go into a senior home.

I can’t say families don’t put in work to help another family member achieve their goals. That is completely inaccurate, however, family must remember and respect the fact that if the money you have now isn’t invested and cared for to produce long term dividends, then the family cannot be taken care of in the future. That can’t be done if everyone is getting new Jordan’s every month.

God commands men not to want what's not theirs, so we know that that's going to be a problem with people, in short it's envy. While you're being happy never think everyone is happy for you, it's naive. We have to set boundaries, people respect you when you say no violently. There's something about standing firm on your word that shuts people up.

She didn't say they asked for that. She gave it. How do we know she didn't use those gifts to make herself feel better or make them feel like they need to give her appreciation and hold it over their heads that if not for her being successful they wouldn't have gotten those things. People use their success as a way to show a disdain of how people live their lives or going through in life.
