Duran has wanted to leave the last 2 transfer windows Chelsea and West Ham . I think the new deal was to add to his value and whilst he is a talent if the price is right I’d take the money and strengthen the overall squad .

Agreed. People are getting carried away about Duran. He has looked very lively and scored important goals which obviously makes him a valuable asset. 57m in the current market isn't enough. However, talk of not entertaining anything less than 100m is a bit insane. He could go on to be nothing much at all, apart from a bit of an inconsistent random who can whack a ball well.

The most important 6 games of the season if you count monico an we was going into it with 2 CB an 3 central midfielders for 3 places we couldn't have any.more player in the squad were just unlucky that they have all come at the same time,just like I think Duran would have started against Monaco but you couldn't risk it cause if he had picked up a yellow Watkins would of had to play 90 against Celtic which would have took your options away against West ham an wolves

I think some of Emery's response re Duran is a language thing. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if Duran goes in the summer. Strikers like him are at a premium, and if someone offers 100 million, then he'll be gone and we'll use the money to buy the new versions of Ings, Bailey and Buendia (was Buendia one of the original three?!) to make up for it...

Did we waste all the Grealish money? We could easily spend £100 on failures and not get anything good out of sale of Duran. Hold him if at all possible. But agree he might force a move, I think he's badly advised

@@RuffRides Despite Bailey's general performances and injuries, I do think he was a HUGE reason as to why we got CL football this season. So I'm not sure we could call him a complete failure. I feel sorry for Buendia, I do like him but it's just never completely worked for him. Personally I think it makes more sense to keep Duran and Watkins. Or sell Watkins. But then I'm not 100% sure Emery trusts Durans temperament.

find it crazy the one time we finally have our hands on the type of player we could only ever dream of signing... it sounds more and more like were going to sell him, now or in the summer. If were serious, why the hell are we selling him, a player every other european club would want and were going to sell him. absolute JOKE! Also, couldnt we sign Cunha anyway to have a good run in the second half of the season and THEN sell duran before the july deadline for PSR, rather than sell him in January if we have to? And if we can afford to turn down £60m we can afford to turn down £80m

If Duran gets sold and they fail to bring in a replacement or the replacement fails and our season falls apart then who's to blame?. Is this a gamble where Emery or Monchi's job could be on the line?. This close to the end of the transfer window it's not a gamble I would be willing to take. It's a unnecessary gamble when there are area's in the squad we need to address first (like the CB position). It's a distraction that could wreck the remainder of the campaign.
