In Part 2 of our //Karas Culture series, follow along with Peace Corps Namibia Volunteer Clarice as she learns how to greet people, count to ten and more in Afrikaans - one of the languages widely spoken across Namibia.
Language-learning a major part of each Volunteer's service. Each has his or her own way of learning, but talking with host family kids is a great method! Learning a local language such as Afrikaans is a big asset to our Volunteers' all-important community integration.

Thanks. Afrikaans would be never go away from Namibia! Even if English is- strangely enough - " the no 1" language. Just like other cultural Namibian languages.
