@@ClaridgeLeather It would appear that matt black hardware is the favorite choice for high-end leather workers on Instagram. I like it, but it can look very stark and also dependent on what shade leather you use. Personally, I prefer a brushed silver or satin finish for hardware, as it lends itself to many applications being neutral in color.

Great Video Tanner. I attempted to use a square turn lock and for some reason, after I put it in, it was able to spin. The hole is flush with turn lock all around, but I guess I might should have made it a little tighter????? any suggestions on how to fix without remaking the entire bag?
@ClaridgeLeather3 жыл бұрын
Shoot! Do you mean the female portion with the hole all the way through it is spinning in the leather? Where did you get the turn lock? I’m just wondering how it fastens to the bag. I hope there’s a solution… I bet there is.
@jayjohnson14403 жыл бұрын
@@ClaridgeLeather it was very similar to yours, except the male piece was a flower. I guess the square itself allowed the entire female piece to spin when trying to tighten the two screws. I actually added some cement glue to it and I'm going to see what happens! The only other option I could think of was sewing another piece of leather on top of it to use as an anchor and reshape the hole tighter!

Sounds like you tried what I would try! Hope it works out for you, Jay!

Great instruction! I like the simplicity of the turn-lock, but am curious about the long term durability. But no velcro? Thought you were an 80's kid!
@ClaridgeLeather3 жыл бұрын
So far, I had one fail, though I suspect is was abused... I did add these two small rivets on either side of the rear piece to secure it in place and keep it from shifting around. Durability is always an important consideration! And velcro... :)

Wow, thank you, Dave! I haven’t been a “teacher,” per se, but I do love LEGO instructions because they communicate the necessary information in such a perfect and simple way. I always want to teach in the way I would want to be taught: not too fast, not too deep into the weeds, and not assuming I have a lot of prior experience. Thanks so much for your kind words, Dave- it means so much. I can’t wait for what’s ahead. Stay in touch! -Tanner

Claridge Leather: Mr. Tanner great video, where do you get your leather from?
@ClaridgeLeather3 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I get leather from quite a few vendors (Buckle Guy, Tandy) and I often look at Maverick Leather for bargains on great leather! I got the leather for this bag (S.B. Foot) from Maverick. Cheers!
