It has come a long way from when you used to visit the "Haunted Hospital" before thus project was even made public. I've been hoping that you would revisit the new Clark Museum as the progress is being made very quickly in that structure. Can't wait for your next visit to marvel at how far this project is progressing. Love the videos Brian!

It is sad to see the hospital was allowed to deteriorate over the years. It looks like an extremely solid core / base structure and I'm glad to see they are going to do something constructive with it instead of letting it further deteriorate. Thanks for the update. I look forward to touring the facility once it is completed.

Brian, I remember when I almost ran into the singer Billy Joel coming out of the front door of the base hospital. He was there at Clark doing an MWR concert and my son had just been born. They gave him a tour of the hospital and he went and visited some of the folks in the wards.

I was interested in seeing how they are reinforcing the concrete pillars. I recall in 1970 being on 3 North when an earthquake occurred. I remember the sounds of what sounded like dry timber snapping. I was subsequently told that the building had been designed to sway in the event of an earthquake.

is that insulation clear of asbestos
@TennRides
@TennRides Жыл бұрын
It sure has come a long way from when you first went in there, before they started it. I remember the trees, brush, and weeds growing in some places. They may have removed the old insulation because it may have lost its insulation properties after being exposed to the elements for so many years, or they may have been found old on it and at that point it is safer to remove it all.

I’d still be very wary of cobras in there, and I’m sure you are. Security guards don’t do much in the way of pest control. My wife is terrified of them and probably would not set foot in that building.

Just my opinion. It would be better if the city government converted it into a community hospital subsidized by the city government and some private corporations to serve the poor constituents of the Clark city than a museum.

Museum? WTH/WTF is a museum needed. What I sense, some of what I heard about medical care in the PI by some ex-pats is that it needs some (a lot?) of help. As for the building itself, well, if it hadn't been for the abandonment and the NEGLECT, I BET the place would look 100 % better. (Same situation with the old base housing ...)
