Before the eagles came along a lot of WA people supported North because of the number of west aussies that have played for them in the 70-80's. I'm glad I kept the faith and stayed with the Roo's, the 90's were the golden era of the club and hopefully that will repeat itself in the near future.

REALLY stoked with Norths Draft Marns! Think we've got our quoter of midfielders now. Clearly the club rates us as having a need for a steady drip feed of midfield talent. FOS and Urquhart are VERY SPECIFIC midfielders too so like you said there's definitely something in play there and I support it 100% We paid a premium in tbis years draft but absolutely smashed it with our selections. So stoked to see where we're going in 2025. The off season is HOT!!!

Urqhart looks good. Strong, fast contested ball winner. Maybe needs some work on his kicking, but a good base there, and a good head on his shoulders.

I watch a lot of interviews with recruiters on gettable so I might be able to shed some light on why clubs pick players that don't seem to fill a need. Us fans have two big pieces of information on hand and it's the lens we view the draft through, list needs and mock drafts. The recruiters well say alot they draft best talent available and mostly trade/sign free agents for need. list needs come into it in the draft when they want to split equally ranked players. Teams do their own ratings but it's influenced by each teams game style. So you get a collection of players that suit that game style. e.g The tigers drafted a lot of guys that were good at repeat sprints which showed in their 2017-2020 run Eagles drafted alot of really good kicks which showed in their playing style in 2018. You'll notice Clarko's language. "We rated you quite highly" he literally means our final rating for you was really highly ranked in their list.

@@MakeCakeNotWar Understand the Urquhart is quite a different midfielder from what we already have, but we do have more depth in that position than small fwd (as an example). Always back the club and their decisions but hopefully we considered some of the players that were still available at the time (which I am sure we did). Keen to see how they all go next season !

Which one? Anthony or River. I watched Anthony kick the ball to absolutely no Roo player for 15 years. Seriously, I’m not exaggerating. Great runner, great courage, go getter, no skills whatsoever
