I have worn the Desert Boot for little over 10 years. Hated the crepe getting so dirty but small price to pay for comfort. Haven’t heard anything about the 2 till now and I think I’ll give it a try. Thanks for the informative video

I was looking to replace my worn original Clarks with the new Clarks Desert Boot 2 for autumn. You provided just the information I needs to see it would be a worthy purchase, and for that, I thank you!

I just got new desert boots, and I wondered why they looked different than my old pair. So I searched online if Clarks introduced a new model of the desert boot.. Perfect video!

Always enjoy your take. I love desert boots, resoled one with a Christy vibram wedge, which solved a problem you don't talk about: poor arch support. I also have a low volume foot, so two laces leaves my narrow heel a little wobbly. But a harder sole, narrower waist, do sound like an improvement. Incidentally, the resoled pair is comfy, but I think you get only one good take on stitch down.

Interesting video.. I just bought a pair of new Desert Boots but the dealer didn't tell me they were new and not the Classic Since 1950. Unfortunately, that half centimeter at the neck makes them personally unwearable!

Is the desert boot evo another name for desert boot 2?

Clark's desert boots are such a comfortable alternative sometimes ,my only gripe tbh were the crepe soles ,it's nice they changed that. I'll get myself the new,improved version once mine wear out. Cheers again
@BootSpy3 жыл бұрын
yeah, I feel the same-- it's a solid boot, but the crepe really sucks. Now that it doesn't have crepe, I'm in!

My desert boot is made in Kenya, America is not Kenya but they do have desert. ;) A Desert boot is a military boot and therefore quite casual. We could certainly use an updated version that is a bit more stylish, a bit more dressy, more wear resistant on concrete, and better in wet weather (at least on the soles). Good review.

Are the desert boot 2s the same as the Bushacre 2s? And are they the same as the desert boot Evo? I’m so confused. I have a pair that does NOT have the insoles and are pretty uncomfortable. I would like to get the pair with the insole but I’m not sure which one to get

The 2 is the Evo.

Very informative video! How do the Desert Boot 2 differ from the Bushacre 2/3? Does the Bushacre have a removable insole like the DB2?
@BootSpy3 жыл бұрын
I've only had experience with the Bushacre 2, not the 3rd. But ultimately I think the Bushacre is the budget version of the DB2
@SiyathWidyaratne3 жыл бұрын
@@BootSpy cheers for replying! I actually bought a pair of the Bushacre 3 and they are very comfortable, and do indeed have a removable insole. Runs very large though.

I own a pair of each type. My original desert boot are my cottage foot wear which I wear either bare foot or with camp slough socks. I have had them re soled with white Crisp soles like you would find on a pair of Red Wings. The Clark II are my in town kick about social foot wear for grocery shopping, cycling, window shopping and pick up soccer or baseball games as well as street hockey games. They too have been re soled this time with black crispy soles. Both are the bees wax leather. Have been told that look is not right on a few occasions. Don’t care they are comfortable. The cobbler informed me that I might get one more re soling.

Have you ever though of trying Waldviertler Tramper Flex boots? They are hand-sewn in Austria and still very affordable. Soles can be changed of course. Really long living boots and not made in Asia, but by hand in Austria

I prefer the bushacre , the sole it's mire durable and not slepery , and the suede material looks a Lot more cool .

What’s the width run like for someone with moderately wide feet? A lot of boots tend to rub on the outside of the bone before my pinky toe so that’s the main concern!
@BootSpy3 жыл бұрын
I think you can get away with these. The leather stretches a good amount on the first few weeks so it should mould to your foot well

Thanks As a whole i prefer the 2.0 But I dislike the laces colour on the new beeswax model, I would prefer them lighter in colour, like on the classic CDB.

Hey, do you know if the 2's come with a shank?
@BootSpy3 жыл бұрын
no shank in any clarks boots
@rocco54462 жыл бұрын
Although I haven't seen it advertised, I recently checked my pair of Desert Boot 2's (suede) and was surprised to find that it does seem to have a steel shank. Ran a magnet over where a shank is usually placed and found that there's definitely a metal shank in there. Confirmed there's nothing like that in my Bushacre 3.
@bumblefritz3 жыл бұрын
I bought the Bushacre 3. I normally wear 13's and as WIDE as I can go. I tried 13's and 12's and ultimately went with 12's. I did a little boot stretching around the toe box a bit. The B3 also seems to have added a bit more rubber down the center of the sole for a little more support. It's a really nice shoe and the insole is nice and cushy.

I like the original Desert Boots for exactly what they are.... casual boots. Comfortable casual boots suitable for wearing with casual dress, ideally with jeans or chinos. They are a version of boots worn by British Army officers as a comfortable alternative to their army boots. They are what they are. Would I use them for serious walking? No. I have a couple of other Clarks boots I prefer for that and for my working environment.
@erickentie94942 жыл бұрын
I don't agree. I have worn desert boots all my life (60). The 2.0 is a bad fake version. The liner wears out very quickly, especially the heel. The sole of the heel also wears out quickly, all chambers where stones end up. Sorry.
@yeojinha9302 жыл бұрын
New one's problem is the sole. Durablilty of the sole is quite bad now.
