Love this salad! Love your back round music too, jazz is such a nice change to the usual…crafty sounding music.

Thank you for sharing! This is one of our favorites of salads, and I'll be making it more often now since I have your recipe; I misplaced the one I had. Can't wait to go grocery shopping and pick up my ingredients, I'm craving it right now.

I'm making this tonight but adding tomatos, boiled eggs, and broccoli. Yum. I love how it's called a 7 layer salad but it can truly be as many layers as you want ;)

Thank you for giving precise amounts for dressing!!! I look at other videos and they say some of this and some of that, like they don't want us to know their amounts for the dressing.

I made this all the time in the 80s & 90s for carry-ins. Only thing different was a layer of chopped cherry tomatoes and no cheese in the dressing. Very popular and good salad that I have not made in a long time----thanks for the reminder.

I love 7 layer salad…mine is similar to yours (and the great thing about it is, you can have whatever you want in it!) I add hard boiled eggs and garbanzo beans in addition to what you have. I like the idea of splitting the dressing between mayo and sour cream…as I prefer sour cream. My mom did the sugar/vinegar recipe, but, the first year I had to do it on my own, I lost her recipe (she had passed away) and so I put two packets of Good Seasons Zesty Italian on top of the dressing, then of course, let it set in the fridge overnight. Mmmmm….Thanksgiving isn’t that far away! Can’t wait to have this. Plus, unlike most salads, this will survive in the fridge as leftovers for 3 to 4 days without getting gross. Thanks for the sour cream suggestion!!

Okay, I'm only :36 into video and when I see you cutting the bacon in small pieces...LOL 😂 WHY didn't I think of that??!!! I have made layered salad so many times, but all the prep can be overwhelming. I DO NOT enjoy cooking bacon and I am excited to do this your way. THANK YOU!!! I will finish watching the video in case I catch another great tip 😊

This was a popular salad in the late 1980's. early 90's. You are the first person I've ever seen put cauliflower in it. Most people from my part of the country use water chestnuts, I don't like them and have always used cauliflower. I made it for my family but, I was the one who really liked it. I love how it last for several days after it's been served. So yummy! Once in a while I make it smaller just for me to have for a few days. Mister doesn't like it.

It is good. My grandmother used to make it, God rest her soul. The only thing I've done differently is to use low fat plain yoghurt instead of sour cream. It makes it a little lighter.
