I am extremely surprised and in awe that this indegenous dance came all the way to the States. As a child I used to see the basic steps of the Tinku dance by natives, the natives were looked upon as low class and uneducated and illiterate and that they did not speak Spanish. However, their dance as part of their cultural heritage is being performed not only in the States, but in Europe, Australia and other places. The costumes and steps have broadened and it is more fun, colourful and enjoable. Indians from the Province of Potosi in Bolivia have truly contributed very much to society with their exciting tinku dance.
