The ending is very symbolic of a father letting go of his son and let him fly on his own. It is bittersweet but it is for the greater good. I hope maybe one day Pseudo finds and adopts a new son or better yet, reunits with The Boy. Their relationship is just so wonderful of a Father/Son bond.
