So what I make for this is why haven’t primes, we’ll really infantry in general been buffed in this patch? I see 90% of infantry in this game as pointless right now. I think regiments should be 15 attacks unless chaff like goblins

Inspiring was kind of all over the Salamanders already with the Ancients having it. However, can see me trying the formation instead of taking ancients to go for a fast salamander list, backed up with wild charged infantry behind.

I'm looking hard at the Whispering Scales to put pressure on the many shooting lists we have here in the SE US meta. Added to a fast list, you can be charging your entire enemies front line on the top of 2.

Hope that works out for you, but I don't see how that will help all that much against those Shooty Gobbos. They'll simply shoot the other stuff in your list and try to mitigate how much damage the formation can do. I think that overall, speed is the better solution.

You can take 2h weapons on the Primes for CS2 dropping them to Def 4 so the Stealthy from the formation starts to look better. I don't think you can take a magic item on the Battle Captain though. i think you just have to take Path of Fire on him, but he doesn't also get to take a magic item like the hero in the Varangur formation? I think it was Varangur.

This. I've run it a few times and they are quite fun. They run up and are basically a distraction that can somewhat hit hard with 12 elite (don't forget the elite!) CS2 attacks each.
