IMO, ZJK's backhand flip over the table is better, but in topspin ralleys Ovtcharov's backhand is more powerful due to his foot placement (ZJK parallel to the table while Ovtcharov puts his right foot in front of the left one -> more power)

Dima's backhand is too inconsistent. He make some brilliant shots and right after that some really bad backhands. Zhang had (now he's injuried quite often and can't play his top) more consistance and control.

ZJK is hitting with a lot more spin and has the best backhand flip in the world, he virtually invented and mastered it.....while DIMA is hitting with a lot more power than spin(full swing)...both players have a very good blocking technique, nothing to differentiate there.... however attacking loop wise, ZJK technique is far more harder to execute cos its a brushing technique and legs and back are bending constantly. Because of the backhand flip of ZJK and his spinny looping technique i would give the edge to ZJK....however noone can beat that Greek Kreanga in backhand attacking....while noone can beat Walder and Samsonov in Backhand blocking.....

Zhang Jike's backhand is much better than Ovtcharov. Zhang's backhand is just like that, a standart table tennis backhand, but it has so much power and technique, even far from the table. While Ovtcharov's backhand seems more a tennis backhand (Swing racquet with the whole body rotation and arm) so it seems very powerful, but if someone manages to counter attack it, Ovtcharov will be in danger, while Zhang Jike is well preparared for the next backhand shot or forehand shot with previous pivot.

Dima all the way. Even Liu Guoliang accepted that Dima has the best backhand. More powerful and more pure. He said that in a Chinese commentary with Yan An.

inyourface I remember watching that interview, although I can't recall if he said Dima had the best BH in the world or just outside of China. Or if he meant most powerful, because ZJK can do more with his BH, and Wang Hao's is unbeatable

The fact that dima is not a champion because he don't know a normal forehand loop that'swhy he loses to chinese players but zhang jike don't talk about his forehand loop his perfact looping makes him perfect

I feel like Zhang Ji Ke has lost the enthusiasm to win in table tennis, because before he grand slam, every time he win he always scream, and look at him now, he doesn't even do anything when he wins and he's getting weaker

hmm, not true, just that he has become more mature. remember the 2014 world cup when he kicked the advertisement hoarding that made him lose his prize money? what good did he have from it? the rio olympics was really a good showcase of his enthusiasm, especially the team semi finals against jung youngsik, where he took 6 consecutive points to win the third set. he fought hard despite his waist injury which clearly affected him if you noticed
