This would have been a better ending. Perseus knew that the volcano would be blamed on the gods and not him, further alienating the people worshiping the gods. Which would have tied in better with the sequel and the gods losing power.

The little scrawl at the bottom sais that Zeus has a Blad Eagle which would never live anywhere near Greece, and since it's fantasy we can assume that the gods can transcend the laws of nature and geography.. People take animals out of their natural habitat all the time. Not to mention the gods can teleport, so it would be VERY easy for Zeus to get a bird from across the planet.

Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Hermes, and either Hestia or Dionysus are children of the Titans. So the whole movie plot is pretty silly, that said, the original movie was the best.
