Joel was so out of order here. Inga is a nice person, and she's been exceptionally kind to him and Robbie. Her only flaw is that she can't be fake and she has a sharp tongue, so if you cross her she will put you in her place. Also, social hierarchy plays a part and people sometimes pick on her because she's an outsider of the Chelsea group. Joel needs to realize that he's an outsider too and just because Miles is nice to him once doesn't really mean much. There is the in-crowd (Miles, Emily, Ruby, Yas, Liv, Tristan, Sam, James, Verity, Julius, Digby, Ollie, Gareth) and the outsiders (Paris, Issy, Joel, Robbie, Inga, Harvey, Maeva) - at least that's what it seems like as a viewer.

Completely agree with your take. I see things the same way. Inga is a great person. She has taken a lot of bullying from ppl in the cast and now stands up for/asserts herself, as she should.
