Topic.. Land grant and society.... In northern side... Peasent Landlords Etc There is one gahapati which was the head of all things may be in family or landlords . Also head which control their family, women, wife and child. In southern side.. Peasent Landlords And slave known by different names. Land grant was given by the king which mention in inscriptions. Why they give land? Firstly to makes that land cultivated also by givung land to other they will get gift, and some part of profit from that also expand the tax collection. Others also believe king gave land to make their alliance and that people will supported him even sahavanas may became more powerful but he will be less than king because king gave thar land. Prabhavati some name like that.. She was the daughter of chandragupta maurya 2 . And marry in deccan to vakataka ruler . Even that time the role of women was very limited but she had their own property even the queen and grant the land and writes these things on inscription which against of brahmical that women had land. From this it shows that power can avoid any social differences and may be every society is not such type in which lot of social differences there. one more term agrahara... It is used the term that land given to brahmans. Thank you..!!!
