Rightly said on most points, yes there seems to be a dent in the industry & as mentioned OTTs have certainly made content more accessible for people to enjoy from the comfort of their homes but they themselves have spoiled the ecosystem as well by commissioning films with exorbitant budgets with not much focus on storytelling instead paying huge actor fees & that’s somehow led to this disbalance. In case of 12th fail & LL, pls note both these films besides being good were backed by big studios who could sustainably hold their films for a longer time in cinema while there are many more films which don’t get that kind of releases unfortunately leading to know awareness & hence a no show. Probably it’s time the bigger productions / studios must start scouting festivals & picking up films which have potential & supporting its release.

Hello Dhruv, I will like to suggest this to you, watch great animated films like Spirited away, The Wind Rises, Wolf Children, A Silent Voice, Princess Mononoke, Grave of the Fireflies. These are some great movies Spirited away has won an Oscar. It follows the story of a 10 year old girl Chihiro who has to rescue her parents from spirit world. The Wind Rises is a story of a young japanese aeronautical engineer during WW2 Jiro Horikishi and it follows the story of passion, hardwork and love but also the consequences of making things which are used in war. Wolf Children is a film of a young single mother her two children both of which are werewolves. It is film which has the strongest character I have seen in a film 'Hana', the young mother. A Silent Voice is a film on disabilities and bullying which comes with but that is on the surface level, on the inside it is about a person's regrets and self improvement. Princess Mononoke is a film on the balance of human and environment in the world, it is like yin and yang situation film. It is actually a really good action film. Grave of the fireflies is a film on two siblings Seita and Setsuko, Seiji the older brother being 14 and Setsuko the young sister being only 5 are forced to live in harsh reality of war. Their father dies in the navy, their mother dies in a bombing and they to eventually die of hunger. It is actually based on real life.
