Well we'll, I was tapping away with a question about what had become of Varamis, and then there it was! The Blue Pullam seemed quite full, despite the eye-watering price of a seat/table. Great to see it being successful.

Hello, Les. THis video was quite varied and interesting. The Midland Pullman is always a highlight, but the Varamis picking up parcels and the rock freight for the repair work at Ulverston (?) and more just really told quite a busy story today! Nice filming!

A long day for you Leslie but at least the best came at the end a Class 37 is always worth waiting for. Accurscale are about to release a 00 scale model of Loch Rannoch in it's resplendant maroon livery, i no long have a layout but this one is very tempting.

Re the timber train, the wagons on closer inspection appear to have a modified stake arrangement, to carry smaller and shorter logs there appears to be extra stakes on some and diagonal braces on others

Hi Les, Great videos as always. Is it possible to film the odd wagon (Tops Code) so your viewers have an idea of what the wagons are called. Thank you.

I have seen the Blue Pullman with as few as 5 coaches. Do they make up the train to the sold tickets as I have seen it with the full 8 coaches as well? Also, are there just two Class 43’s, or a spare, or are there four power cars, so that two trains can be run on the same day (different itinerary’s)?
@LeslieGilpinRailways21 күн бұрын
The Midland Pullman set has usually 8 or 9 cars whilst the West Highland Pullman set has 5 usually (to fit in the loops on the West Highland Extension to Mallaig). There are at least five Class 43s in either Midland Pullman or West Highland Pullman vinyls. The West Highland Pullman was a 3 day trip to Fort William and Mallaig - the passengers having to pay for their own accommodation in Fort William. The Midland Pullman is used on day trips over long distances, eg Cardiff to Edinburgh etc.

The WCML must not have been very busy? A number of freights going south on it and not 'over the top' this day. A lot of north bound freight with the TESCO train and the Russel train also carrying TESCO and a Geest boxes. Some of the trains carrying European and US branded containers both tankers and box's. Well winter festivities are close and todays (Friday) weather looks to be nasty or worse (red warning for wind) get the diesels ready.

@@briancooper562 most intermodals run overnight when there's no passenger traffic. The class 6 freight going main line are either one offs or moved from the S&C to give a path to the rhtt.
