Class 43s at Carlisle
Midland Pullman
Network Rail Test Train
18 April 2024
Midland Pullman with 43047 and 43055 on the Settle Carlisle and Coastal Pullman
Colas 43272 and 43277 Safety Task Force on the Carlisle - Blackpool test train
We also see a few other locos and trains at Carlisle including one unexpected loco in a very smart livery!
Recorded on a miserable Wednesday afternoon at Carlisle when the Cumbrian Coast Furness section was closed due to damage to the sea embankment at Grange over Sands.
The Class 43 is an iconic locomotive - who would have thought they would still be around. After all they were designed as a stop gap for the roll out of the Advanced Passenger Train!
With a full rake of Mark 3 coaches it looks good but in Midland Pullman Nanking Blue and white it looks equally as iconic as the 1960s Midland Pullman.
