I've been sewing for 46 years. Im expert level, and can draft my own patterns. But....I have boxes of attachments and have only ever used a few. Today I learned from this video how to simultaneously attach as you gather (I've always made my ruffles them attached them). This is really going to come in handy to make a ruffled bed skirt! Thanks for teaching this old dog a new trick!

Oh my. I have had this ruffler for years and seen a tutorial on how to use it on my manual BEAUTIFUL machine. I never thought or checked if it'd work for my BUTTERFLY tabletop until a few hours ago when I was looking to shop online for a gathering foot. I thought to myself: "why not use the one you have for manual machine" and I was looking online to renew my knowledge of the use and boom, videos came up and I found it could use it with my tabletop. Yay! I haven't looked to far before finding this tutorial, for which I am so grateful. Thanks for sharing. I am soooo glad I found your video. I have that exact ruffler and was told I needed a special foot so I've never used it as I was told by Bernina that the foot no longer was available so I just did ruffles the old fashioned way of pulling threads. I did not understand what I was to do and I happened upon your video. It works. I did have to move the needle over 1 spot so it would work, but that was fine. Yea!!!!! Thank you very much for your tutorial. Very easy to follow. And you show how to take care of the foot. I am going to subscribe to your channel as you know what you are talking about. Thanks again

Finally someone who explained ALL the parts of the ruffler foot. You did a better job than the explanation that came with the purchased foot. One question please: Is there a formula to use so can make the top fabric end up the same length as bottom fabric when using gathering setting for ruffle. Amazing tutorial! So informative and helpful. My machine has a slant shaft. Can you please do a tutorial on how to use the ruffler with a slant shaft? Also do you know how to figure out how to mathematical set the ruffler so you know exactly how long a piece of fabric you need to ruffle for any given area?
