Amazing to see what you are doing in the UK with the older locos. Here on the continent our companies are getting rid of diesels at a fast rate, BLS/crossrail whom I work for just bought a load more new Siemens Vectons. Our 66s are just on a select few trains and shunting duties. In many places the 66s aren’t liked anymore because of pollution norms, especially Germany. I hope that something could be done with the unused Class 60's that maybe some of those could be repurposed for other work. The comfort of the Class 60 combined with the reliability of the innards used on the Class 66 would make the ex-Class 60's another ideal repurposing project. Maybe they could be reclassified as a Class 61 or a Class 62? Could someone pass this idea onto GBRF for consideration please?
@rearspeaker63643 жыл бұрын
i would believe that thought is going on right now!!!
@BritishRail600623 жыл бұрын
@@rearspeaker6364 Fingers crossed mate and I really hope so. Let's hope something positive comes out of it. Although EMD 66's may not be appreciated now because they are so many but EMD's are very reliable and are less prone to breaking in service. Unlike the Sulzer and English Electric engines. Sure if one wanted to spice up an EMD unit and make it scream like a Paxman Valenta. A low-overpass turbo would take care of that problem and EMD re-purposed ex-Class 60's is fine with me. If HEP is required for passenger work for example, maybe another engine to drive the generator like the Cummins Qsk19 could work for that as I believe the EMD 710T3i (or whatever its known as now) is smaller than the existing Mirrlees Blackstone MB275T and lighter as well and having a separate unit for HEP will not stress out the EMD power units.

I needed to know why don’t dig a tunnel and do an extension for the main line Train so that they can extend the new abandoned underground stations. Why couldn’t they use the part D78 Stock train doors on the sides and also restructure the front face of the A60 and A62 stock and that includes the class 313, class 314 and class 315 remix and make them all together and also redesign them an overhead line and also make them into six cars per units and also having three Disabled Toilets on that six cars per units A60 and A62 stock trains and also convert the A60 and A62 stock trains into a Scania N112, Volvo TD102KF, Volvo D10M, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Engines and also put the Loud 7-Speed Voith Gearboxes even Loud 8-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Gearboxes in the A60 and A62 stock, class 313, class 314, and class 315 and also modernise the A60 and A62 stock and make it into an 11 car per unit so it could have fewer doors, more tables, computers and mobile phone chargers. A Stock Train and 8 Disabled Toilets on those A stock trains. why couldn’t we refurbish and modernise the waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel and make it bigger and extend it to the bank station, making it into a Triple-Track Railway Line so those 4 European countries such as Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden to convert the waterloo and city line Triple-Track Train tunnel into a High-Speed train? The Third Euro tunnel Triple-Track Train line to make it 11 times better for passengers so they could go from A to B. then put the modernised 11 car per unit A Stock and put them on a bigger modernised waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel so it could go to bank station to those 4 European countries such as Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. The modernised refurbished 11 cars per unit A stock could be a High Speed The Third Triple-Track Euro Tunnel Train So it is promising and 37 times a lot more possible to do this kind of project that is OK for London Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. oh by the way, could they also tunnel the Triple-Track Railway Line so it will stop from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex so that the Passengers will go to Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden and also extend the Triple-Track Railway Line from Bank to Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex Stations so that more people from there could go to Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden Easily. Why couldn't they extend the Piccadilly line and also build brand-new underground train stations so it could go even further right up to Clapton, Wood Street and also make another brand new tunnel train station in Chingford could they extend the DLR. All of the classes 150, 155, 154, 117, 114, 105, and 106, will be replaced by all of the Scania N112, Volvo TD102KF, Volvo D10M, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Six carriages three disabled toilets are air conditioning trains including Highams Park for extended roots which is the Piccadilly line and the DLR trains. Could you also convert all of the 1973 stock trains into an air-conditioned maximum speed 78 km/hours (48 MPH) re-refurbished and make it into a 8 cars per unit if that will be alright, and also extend all of the Piccadilly train stations to create more space for all of the extended 8 car per unit 1973 stock air condition trains and can you also build another Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive Companies and they can order Every 17 Octagon and Hexagon shape LNER diagram unique small no.13 and unique small no.10 Boilers from those Countries such as Greece, Italy, Poland, and Sweden, can they make Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive speeds by up to 117MPH so you can try and test it on the Original Mainline so it will be much more safer for the Passengers to enjoy the 117MPH speed Limit only for HS2 and Channel Tunnel mainline services, if they needed 16 Carriages Per units can they use those class 55’s, class 44’s, class 40’s and class 43HST Diesel Locomotive’s right at the Back of those 18 Carriages Per Units so they can take over at the Back to let those Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s have a rest for those interesting Journeys Please!!, oh can you make all of those Coal Boxes’s 16 Tonnes for all of the 117MPH Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s so the Companies will Understand us PASSENGER’S!! so please make sure that the Builders can do as they are Told!! And please do something about these very important Professional ideas Please Prime Minister of England, the Prime Minister of Sweden, the Prime Minister of Germany, the Prime Minister of Lathe ly, the Prime Minister of Poland and that Includes the Mayor of London.

Perhaps some EMD repurposed ex-Class 60's would be better for that. One there is more room for a HEP power pack to be installed and if reclassified as something like a Class 61/62 project and if uprated to 95mph. They could work the CS trains in the non-electrified parts of Scotland and charters/rescue and hire work would pay for itselfs. Two, that would give GBRF some more repurposed locos that would have HEP for passenger cars. Well GBRF own 60008/014/018 that could become 62001/2/3 as test pilots and they would fit well alongside their ten Class 60's and their fleet of Class 92's.

Only reason they converted 56 is because they can't build any more Cl 66's but they can fit a Cl66 power unit in a 56

Why do I have a feeling that this locomotive will be popular with teens?

To anyone disappointed about the lack of engine sound on this video, just repeat ‘Ming ming Ming’ to yourself when the loco is idling. When pulling away at maximum throttle try turning the washing machine onto full spin... Why don’t GBRf refurbish some 37s like Rail Operations Group and get some decent locos in the fleet??

Class 66 sound is 'Ying Ying' (not MIng MIng) sound which is what you are referring too but still be nice to hear especially after going throught the effort of producing a video for it!

As an American rail fan British Locomotives looks way different than American locomotives!
@HA1LILPALAZZO3 жыл бұрын
it's kinda funny as BR originally did take inspiration from American locomotives (the Class 40 for example and how earlier BR diesels had doors on their cab ends like on many American diesels) that lasted for a few years then they changed their minds about the designs

I've always been intrigued by these preserved railways. Do you run regular freight and passenger service or is this a tourist/fan operation? I also wonder why the railways don't use the coupler system we use in the USA. Fantastic videos. GJK, retired railroad conductor.

Hi. GREAT IDEA. I absolutely love the idea of using something that is already parked up, down at Boothe's, or Woodham's, but... Could you tell me why you didn't use the class 60 as a donor.? Surely the 60 would have been a better platform, as it would take less to have the bodywork brought back into good order, and has newer running gear, or is it that there's still a possibility of these locos being brought out of retirement in their own right in the not too distant future. If this idea takes off in a far bigger direction, would it not be better to have a larger number of locos ready to go, as in the case of the 60, or do you already know roughly how many you're going to need, and that there's plenty of 56's still parked down the back of a shed at Crewe, or at the scrappy.? Also.. aren't there enough 66's on the second hand market that could be 'touched up' and bought for cheap.?
