gotta ask, what does pathos mean?, I've seen that word used on several of these videos, and frankly it just doesn't make sense and the word just seems out of place

maybe in Russian and in English this word has slightly different meanings

The term pathos usually refers to the intensity of the emotions that something arouses (a play where the characters' feelings are well realized and capable of involving the audience, for example). It is a term taken directly from ancient Greek and one of the most important individuals who spoke about it in the past was the philosopher Aristotle. Having said all this, I don't know what it means in Russian but I still hope this comment was useful, even if just a little.
