The way I understand Occult Magic in Pathfinder is that the Collective Unconscious proposed by Carl Jung is real in Golarion, and with enough hard work and creativity you can tap into its power.

Nice video LDTG. Bard’s my fav class and having a bard can really make those Martial crits more likely. Dirge of Doom at level 6 basically is a “I want to win” button.

As someone playing a bard for my first ever 2e game (just got to level 2), I’m looking forward to what you gotta say. Only other character I’ve played was a dnd barbarian so figuring out what to do as someone who doesn’t smack stuff down is tough for me.

Hi LDTG, when you were describing spontaneous casting (around 10:20) you said that the repertoire changes when the PC levels up. You can also change the repertoire during downtime too by retraining.

I meant to include Retraining, but I forgot it when I was recording. That was a blunder on my part.

Thanks for the in-depth look at the Bard. One of my players is considering one for some Otari adventures, so I'll be sure to link your video.

I played a bard in Troubles in Otari and I loved it. I went enigma bard and recall knowledge and buffing the party was awesome.

I've been considering playing a Song'o Halfling Bard with a Warrior Muse ever since Mwangi Expanse released. That book really highlighted some fun flavor, story options.

How they described occult magic in Secret of Magic makes sense for the bard to be the primary caster of the tradition.

ty for your content, can u link to a doc for the - lets call it the "10 action bard" ?
@TheLocalDisasterTourGuide2 жыл бұрын
Being honest - I don't remember the specifics of that combo. LOL! I know that Hypercognition & the multiple Recall Knowledge actions was part of it - but I'd have to do some digging to remember the rest.
@TheLocalDisasterTourGuide2 жыл бұрын
It takes some set up & you need Multifarious Muse so you can access both the Enigma & Maestro Muse, but if you have Inspire Courage + Lingering Composition active, along with Haste (or Eternal Composition), & you're using Effortless Concentration to maintain a spell, then use Quickened Casting, & True Hypercognition, you have an "effective" 10 actions in a single turn. Now, those actions are pretty constrained, mostly to spells, compositions, & Recall Knowledge Checks - but all of those have the potential to be quite useful!

42:07 this is true of every class in pathfinder 2e not just the bard. If you think of every class in 2e like you do a bard then you will get a lot more out of gameplay. Every class has some options to help with this, but some are better than others.
@joshua7452 жыл бұрын
Composition spells and cantrips are a little annoying, but I understand why they did it. The composition trait. Only 1 composition spell can be active at a time. To cast a composition cantrip or focus spell, you usually use a type of Performance. If the spell includes a verbal component, you must use an auditory performance, and if it includes a somatic component, you must use a visual one. The spell gains all the traits of the performance you used. You can cast only one composition spell each turn, and you can have only one active at a time. If you cast a new composition spell, any ongoing effects from your previous composition spell end immediately.

How do I get to know this bild option you mention? 10 actions? Crazy. I would like tô know abaout the homebrew too. How can I get these?
@TheLocalDisasterTourGuide2 жыл бұрын
It's been a while, but I know part of it was Haste & the special ability that let's you Recall Knowledge five times as a single action. The combo is one of those "lots of restrictions," but the action economy is absurd.

If I remember the other parts of the combo, I'll let you know.

One of biggest disappointments in 2E was the bard’s lack of martial combat options. Certainly the full dedication to spellcasting more than makes up for this, but I miss being able to swing a longsword around and have be reasonably effective with it.
@TheLocalDisasterTourGuide2 жыл бұрын
I feel that. A low-level Warrior Muse Bard isn't bad, but eventually you just have to rely so heavily on magic that the combat side feels lackluster!
@RCCraigoOnline2 жыл бұрын
@@TheLocalDisasterTourGuide indeed. The warrior muse to me is just an improved list of weapons the bard can use just as ineffectively as any other. I'd like to see more spells which allow a Bard to make weapon attacks using their spell attack proficiency, even if at a penalty or a limited number of times, such as with a Focus spell.
