I love in this how he drops a bit of "normal" rapping in to illustrate how talented he is to bridge the gap between his message and cliché rap music. You probably already know through research etc that he's the younger brother of Ms Dynamite who was massive in the 90s in the UK, might of heard Ms Dynamite - Boo! He is a massive credit to the UK and his mantra is 'knowledge is power', which is pretty clear from this. I haven't actually seen all of his Fire in the Booth videos, think I'm still processing the first two. He did a good performance with lowkey and black the ripper that you can find on KZbin, called 'I still believe' which is worth a listen. Akala - Shakespeare is a good one for his rapping ability but show's off just how intelligent the guy is, and he also did a song with his sister (Ms Dynamite) called 'Why Do' which is a much slower call to action for people who are headed down the wrong road. He did a performance not too dissimilar to this in a secondary school in the UK too which is on KZbin and easy to find. If you search 'Akala Westwood' you'll find some evidence of what he referred to as "his older bars when he was just as confused as you probably are", still good stuff. You don't often find Akala fans in the UK when talking to people about music, but as soon as I find them they're friends because I know they get it...

I've seen many people raving about Akala's FITB but I never took the time to listen til now, and I get it too now. Love the raw honest story telling and how well he paints such a vivid picture. Reminds me a lot of another to add to your list.... "Complete - Bars of Steel".... Very different content as we just dont have a strong gang culture in Aus, but very similar in terms of raw honest story telling at its finest.

Glad you're doing his other fire in the booths. They are all incredible but part 4 in particular is ridiculous, I'd argue the first part is the best anyone has ever rapped, the second part is very unique, make sure you listen to the conversation between the 2 parts for context. There are many interviews with him and lectures etc talking about the things he raps about. He has written books and novels. There are albums and singles aplenty. Also I'd like to recommend dave and little sims as 2 other british rappers I think you might enjoy. Oh and low key is another.

I'm looking forward to his part 4. I'm going to see if I can get ahold of one of his books and definitely watch some of those interviews. Any singles you'd recommend? dave and little sims added. I've reacted to a good amount of lowkey so far but I haven't done Lowkey FITB's yet.... in the works.

@@notrashtolerated Also, recently, I found a Chester P freestyle that I hadn't heard before. You can find it on YT if you put "chester p freestyle fubar radio sites" into the search. His bars start at about the 5:28 mark and they are nothing short of sensational. The other 2 guys (Genesis Elijah and Sites) are worth a listen, too, but Ches kills it. I mean really kills it - lyrically, one his best freestyles, IMHO. Genesis Elijah has done so much better than his bars on this suggest, too - defo worth checking out - but I don't know about Sites's other work.
