I had the opportunity to ride an XLCR for 100 miles in West Virginia back roads. It was the only Harley that I've ever straddled. I'm a BMW - Ducati guy. I was more impressed than I expected. Shifted like a tractor. Kerclunck, kerclunk. One of the best looking bikes ever made. Vroom, Vroom. God Bless Y'all.

One of the nicest features of the pre-disc brake Sportsters is the internal throttle. They are not complicated, they are easy to set up correctly, they are very smooth and there is no cleaner look. Your shop does really fine work but get up to speed on the internal throttle. It is a big plus to the vintage crowd.

Had a 71 XLCH... 900 , I believe they had a mid year change to the engine upped to 1000cc ? You guys get the most beautiful bikes... great example of older Iron ! Keep it up ! God bless you....

They changed to 1000cc in 1972. The motor was modified mid year in 1973 model year, adding an additional headbolt, improving the sealing of the head gaskets. The frame in 1973 was factory recalled to have dealers weld braces behind the battery and oil tank. I owned a black 1973 XLCH. I stupidly sold it to buy an FLH

There is a sweet, un pretentious, super cool sportster. Your videos are preventing my winter cabin fever up north here in New Brunswick, Canada. I had my own motorcycle shop retailing for over 10 years up here and I admire and understand what you do. You raise the bar as high as it can go ,and are a true cycling icon! I'm coming down this year to check everything out.(Holy shit that sportys points cover was cheesy though lol)

Un pote en avait une ,rouge, dans les années 80-90. Je ne roulais qu'en tout-terrain (2 temps) . En France. Mon dieu , que cette moto était belle et excitante ! J'étais amoureux de la moto de mon pote ! A friend had a red one in the 80s and 90s. I only drove off-road (2-stroke). In France. My god, how beautiful and exciting this bike was! I was in love with my friend's bike!

Yadda yadda, those aluminum rims are crap, they're aluminum and gather dirt in their ridges on every ride! They're crap and every HD owner replaces them! the chromed steel rims are the only ones you want on a Sportster, unless you get mags!! Thankfully the front is steel! The back was replaced as it originally came steel also!
