Really neat options with the X-form command! I see it is just a simple exercise scenario. Similar thing was done by Barry Kimball in alias but I believe there was no 'driving curve' as he had to constantly 'delete history' as the main focus in his exercise was the blend surface quality and that there were no 0Gs (inflexions) in the theoretical (0G match).

Barry is a great modeler. One of the best. If there were a way to make it driven geometry in Alias, he would be the one to do it. The nice thing about the driving curve is that it acts as an anchor that all sorts of stuff can be fixed to.

you definitely can do the same thing in Alias. In barrys case he was just using the "alignment" feature without history.

@@akaAlias We are talking full parametric like NX. I know Alias used to have issues with keeping history so most designers do not. When I used Alias 15 -20 years ago the history tools sucked. I worked with Barry at ICEM years ago. He does it that way for good reason.

@@ClassASurfacing I might be misunderstanding something. This is a simple one (single span) patch alignment to a curve with an additional symmetry on one patch, the curve is controlling both patches (associativity). There are definitely reasons to disable history but i was referring to what you are showing. Icem is great as well and Alias got much better over the past 15-20 years. I like your content!
