1970 Vw Dormobile camper.
This video has had to be sliced slightly due to a copyright claim in the music department. Apologies for the choppiness...
After the removal of some components upon the front assembly. Time has come to drop the beam to gain access to the areas of the chassis rails that require attention...
So at some point along the line, probably more so when the projects are near completion, I’m hoping that I’m a lot better at documenting and filming by then that I can put together a full episode/short film, or a maybe a small series that will cover the journey throughout the restorations, hopefully highlighting in a lot more detail of what is/was involved. For this I’d like to included questions from those that have watched. So before it’s too far in to these builds, I would like to start collating questions from here on out. This shall be a long term project, something I want to take my time (when allows) doing. ‘Anything you want to ask, anything you’d like me to cover, include, anything’...
Submit your requests/questions by email to restocal6t7@gmail.com, marking the subject matter ‘future video’ so its easily identifiable. Please note I won’t reply to these emails received.
The project starts right here, right now with you. Thanks for watching, contributing, have yourselves a good week...
Ross

Vw Rosstorations, these old VWs make us work for it, don't they? The tie rod tool is good to have but the poor man's impact wrench you used on the backing plate bolts is great. I ended up with stitches doing that one time but that was my fault! Keep 'em coming!

I like the way you do a quick recap of your last video. I never seen a tool like you have for removing tie rods I have a pickle forks. Your front beam look like it is in good shape. When I pulled my beam started cleaning it; wow did I find a lot of rust holes. I shuold put a video up today, I needed some time away from tha floor path task; started building a engine run test stand. A friend gave me a frame he put together to be and engine build stand; I'm turning it into a run test stand . Those beams weight a lot lift to many times and you will have naked babys for sure.

Nice work. Be sure and change that relay lever bushing. It's probably worn. It will tighten up your steering quite a bit. Just did it on my 76 Westy and it's like a new car!
