Thank you for showing. Great to see the car back again. I would build it without the additional wing, becaues for me it looks a litttle bit too much. And because of physical reasons the two shock set-up at the front.

Obviously LOTS of super cool more modern R/C vehicles available these days than compared to the 1980's, but the original and re-release variants from TAMIYA are truly special. They where cool then and they are just as cool now..being a teen in the nid 80s,I find all the Tamiya 1/10 off road vehicles to be WAY up top on the "cool factor" chart! Great review!

The original Thundershot got me into the hobby, I still have it, it’s been upgraded and goes like stink! If I had to give up all my cars tomorrow and keep one, it would be the thundershot. Without a doubt!

You are so lucky to get these kits so early. Nice to see Tamiya USA working with KZbin RC channels. We have no chance in the UK as Tamiya UK (Hobbyco) Doesn't even get demo units so I'm told. Great video as always! I have placed a deposit on one so I'm looking forward to getting mine on the show.

Great video. I had a Thundershot in 87, and it was great. I took the tires off the wheels and was able to fit my Blackfoot wheels (reversed) onto the rims, a truck body, to make it a monster truck. I moved so much as a kid, I lost it in a move. I'll be getting one when they're released next month(?). The original steering rods were adjustable, they just weren't turnbuckles.

This was my 3rd Tamiya after the Hornet and Boomerang. I still have my original Thundershot from 1987 which I refreshed and added some hop-ups. Raced it at a vintage race in 2020, but then cracked the chassis. Now it sits as a shelf queen as parts in 2020 were hard to come by. Thanks for making this video! Might have to pick up the rere.

Yes i do remember that the original Tamiya Thunder Shot did have the adjustable steering buckles. Another part that used to break pretty often was the front lower wishbone mount there is a metal shaped upgrade that fits over the top of the plastic piece i have seen it on the rere Tamiya terra scorcher you may want to get one.

My only advice on this car is to upgrade the A5 part.. to either a metal one. Or to get some hinge pins and e-clips so that little weakness is eliminated...
