The plane looks to be in fantastic condition. That sound too! My first commercial flight was on a United 727 in 1994. I'll never forget it.

Saw VP-BAP departing Van Nuys this morning (Oct-1-22). She took off to the south, made a lazy 180 degree left climbing left turn to the north. She looked immaculate as ever.

If the Boeing 747 is the one and only Queen of the Sky - the Boeing 727 is the one and only Princess of the Sky and both of them are so fascinating, awesome, fantastic, wonderful and so majestic to see! I love them both so very much ✈️😍✈️😍✈️😍✈️😍✈️😍 Lovely greetings from Sarah and have a wonderful day and stay safe out there and take care of you all the time 🙋💖🙋💖🙋💖🙋💖🙋💖

The only thing I don’t like is those dumb JT8D-200s. They are quite compared to the original -1 through -17 engines even when hush kitted. The JT8D-200s are Stage III noise from factory and don’t need hush kits before anyone asks.

The total thrust of all 3 engines is still less than the new 737's with only 2. IMHO the planes look much sleeker with older engines though as the newer high bypass ratio engines are such a large diameter in front.
@DaveFzaxx4 жыл бұрын
Not really. That particular airplane has 2 JT8D-217C engines in the #1 and #3 position, each producing 20,000 lbs of thrust. The number two engine is a JT8D-7B engine that produces 14,500 lbs of thrust, making the total thrust of THAT airplane 54,500 lbs of thrust. A new 737-900 airplane has two CFM56-7B27 engines, each producing 27,300 lbs of thrust, totaling 54,600 lbs of thrust., or a mere 100 lbs more than that 727. However, the MGTOW of that 727 is 176,000 lbs. the MGTOW of a 737-900 is 187,679 lbs. the thrust to weight ratio of the 727 is, therefore, .3097. The 737 is .2909
