Yeah…2017 to 2020 was a TIME for BTS interviews. Of course ARMYs understood their struggles with English as it’s not their native language, but also, these guys were just pure unadulterated CHAOS! They still are, but they’re older now, and a lot more refined. J-Hope was a live wire though, you couldn’t contain him in interviews at all lol! I love seeing who the guys have grown into since becoming an ARMY, but it’s nice to go back and chuckle at their interviews! The goofiness always makes my day! Much love Nico, Blaze, and WG2S fam! When JK said he doesn’t have to text them back and then RM’s answer. Love it. These guys are the best. It’s funny because I have seen two Korean people being interviewed on the streets in the last few days and they both commented about how Koreans text back and forth all the time and if you don’t (especially if in a relationship) the partner will think you aren’t interested and I immediately thought of JK because it is well known that he does not like using his phone. 😂

I'm with y'all - I can see the same interviews multiple times and STILL find them funny. Especially when the editors do compilations like this and add those little notes that'll make you either notice things you didn't before, or just laugh even harder. And! Ftr, I THINK (iirc), Tae's asparagus thing? He said the word for roasted in Korean - but pronounced it the... English way instead of the Korean way... which is why it sounded like "Gooey" - so Korean word with "American/English accent"? So he was TRYING to say "roasted" in English, but either couldn't remember the word or just figured it was one of those that you just add an American/English dialect to it and it's correct. Which makes it all the more adorable and hilarious.

I know they're all kinda funny but watching these interviews just makes me think of all the stupid questions they were getting asked and that they didn't have a translator so joon literally had to do so much :( I love how much the other boys tried to express stuff even though they couldn't do it in English like hobi and jin with their little sound effects 🥺

This was so funny! I love seeing your reaction videos pop up :) I was definitely surprised the first time I saw Jimin's answer ("police officer"). I think Korean police have a somewhat different dynamic with the public than the police here do. Also, I wonder if that was kind of an offhand answer he came up with for English language interviews . I saw Jimin mention this one other time in a red carpet interview with Access Hollywood. (Compared to like, Jin, who has mentioned that he wants to be a farmer about 5,000 times!)

Well, that was a fun trip down Bangtan memory lane! Their dedication to improving their English skills is so evident when you watch these old clips. As a side note, it's easy to bash the interviewers for the simplistic questions, but at the time, the language barrier made it difficult to ask deeper questions. Anyway, I appreciate the laughs. 💜
