CLASSIC CAMPERVAN CRASH (Insurance Nightmare)

Tim & Mandy, sounds like a really upsetting and stressful experience. I love that in the end it sounds like there is light, with the T25 probably saving a life and you both being able to make some lemonade from those lemons :-) Cool memories of your journeys in the T25 - and it got to see the Wild Atlantic Way!! The new machine is quite different in looks and will be cool to see what it has to offer.

Thanks Gerry yes mate its been a strange few months, the insurance company has finally paid up, to be honest we had given up on some of the things that were damaged. Miss the T25 mate it was a keeper, this one is very different once we've got it somewhere near right we will stick a video up. Hope all is well mate, been a warm winter this time, don't know if that's the same over the pond by you but looking forward to spring now :) Tim/Mandy

Good to hear the lad walked away and you have a new van. The 2.5di 70/76/80bhp ford diesel engines were very reliable and good on fuel too.

Hello Tim - as someone who works front-line in the emergency services I see things like this often and I at least part way understand all the stress it must have placed on you. It's great that you are back out again and that you are enjoying your new van. It very much seems that you have taken it in your stride and can finally enjoy what you love doing again. All the best!

Hi Joseph I take my hat off to you my friend, really don't know how you people cope with everything you see!!! I thought there was a baby trapped in the back of the car, thats what really started to freak me out because the lad wouldn't speak he was trapped in the car in total shock! I am a Pastor of a church and get to do funerals so I see the grief from that perspective. I put up all the irritation about insurance because it really is difficult to get an honest pay out, they don't care. I believe things happen for a reason and one of the reasons I went for a basic van instead of a classic is because I think The Lord was trying to tell me something, if that makes sense? The transit will be fine, a badge means nothing, I have just converted a Mk7, mid roof (same as yours ) but short wheelbase, look forward to seeing how yours is fitted out.. I got this a few weeks ago, always worth remembering. Heb.4:16

Shame about the van mate. Especially after all the memories you've made in it. The transit looks great I think some of the new VW you pay for the brand rather for what you get for your money. Oh, so sorry for all the hassle that you have had, but things happen for a reason and I think that as much as you loved the VW, in the long run you will appreciate the Ford even more. We moved from small campers to the Renault and love the extra room and being able to stand up to cook and get dressed. Also the dogs have more room. I'm glad that you weren't in your garden at the time, or it could have ended differently. He is a very blessed young man. On a lighter note, we watched and both said at the same time, oh look, there's the showers at Talisker! They will be in one of our forthcoming videos. Glad all ended well for you both.

Life as you say is precious and no one was hurt which is the important thing. That doesn't diminish the amount of stress you have both had to go through. I'm a T25 owner over in Stoke so I happened on your channel whilst searching 'T25' on you tube. I have enjoyed following your adventures and love your new van. You are right my friend.... it is at the end of it all "Just stuff" its amazing how these things become such a concern, having said that it is our hobby, we go out in the camper every Friday night and do a small walk and then back to our weekly routine. Thats right Chris, he escaped crossing a very very busy A road without hitting any on going traffic and then hitting the van first then the garden wall before hitting the house massively softened the blow, Was great get out last week it really was thanks for watching my mate Tim/Mandy

Wow!...thank God neither of you were in the garden at the time! I thought I had problems when I was lying under the T4 today doing a pre MOT inspection when I found the end of the sliding door channel has rusted through and needed a plate welding in. Your disaster puts a bit of rot into perspective! Hope the Ford treats you well. Perhaps you can trade it in for a proper (VW) camper next year !!! :)

@@savedpurplecat Joshing of course about 'proper campers' ! I've always had VW's..T2, T25 and T4, but you certainly get more bang for your buck with something like a Ford. VW's do seem overpriced, especially the classics. Hope you're going to have a vlog of your Scotland trip coming up soon?
