I suppose if your just a poser or someone who likes to seen driving a classic it makes sense but for a true enthusiast it completely out of the question. The engine is the heart and soul of the car, maintaining it and ensuring it’s always working as well as it can is half the fun and satisfaction. Then there is driver involvement, driving a classic car well takes skill and when you get it right it is very rewarding. My classics are all stock, I don’t even believe in electronic ignition conversion, just learn how to care for your car and it will look after you. If you want a modern driving experience it’s very simple, buy a modern car👍🏼

Many people who have owned a classic car have considered updating the engine, suspension, brakes etc. The external aesthetics and build quality of the cars far exceed that of modern cars.

Classic cars in the uk are exempt from emission zone charges anyway so no need to ruin them.

@@Skobeloff... The 1 minute to midnight climate emergency garbage? The planet has heated and cooled since the dawn of time but even if you believe that guff we are a mere pebble on a beach compared to China India and the rest who are laughing at us making ourselves poorer.

Seems a great idea until you realise that the battery will cost tens of thousands to replace every 10 - 15 years and the suspension will fail sooner from over loading. Never mind that if the EU brings in the proposed EV battery regulations they will never be able to cross a border.
