EV enthusiasts beware, GM has just announced their all-new 0-emission engine that will make electric and internal combustion vehicles obsolete! This all-new radical technology is said to be the next revolution in the automotive world and will drive us towards a completely eco-friendly future of cars! GM has been searching for an alternative to EVs for years now, and their search has led them to the all-new compressed air technology! Compressed air has already been seen to be of limited use in the 19th century, mostly with mine locomotives and trams in some European cities, the most notable of which is Paris. However, the technology has since been dropped and forgotten in favor of internal combustion engines, because of their immediate potency. However, in the early 2010s, the French Car manufacturer, Peugeot, saw the potential in combining compressed air with internal combustion engines into an all-new hybrid technology that retains the eco-friendliness of a regular hybrid, without needing a battery! While these prototypes didn’t really move far from the testing stage, they did spark a fair bit of interest from the rest of the automotive industry, most notably GM.
So, let's not waste any time and check out this new way of thinking as GM CEO announces This New Engine That Will CHANGE The World!

The best AIRMOTOR is already developed by EngineAir Australia, a redesigned "rotary Wankel airmotor" invented by Angelo Di Pietro. This rotary Wankel airmotor can be used as a wheel-hub airmotor to power 2 wheels or all 4 wheels. It is fully achievable to use new failsafe CFC air pressure tanks, holding 20,000 psi or more, to power a typical sedan up to 1000-mile range per fill-up. GM Cadillac AERA concept car, 2010, L.A. Auto Show, was a luxury concept but cars for everyday use could use this excellent technology just as well. In addition, the "rotary Wankel airmotor" designed by Angelo Di Pietro can also be used to power VTOL Aircraft for similar long range and efficiency.

We went from the horse, to the steam engine, to combustion engines. Who says we need to stop advancing? Electric cars aren't really practical so, we should find something else. I like the idea, as a solution to range problems a car could have a compressor powered by anything, electric, gas , hydrogen, making the storage tanks part of the cars structure would save weight, also the stored energy from braking could be used to compress air, making it like an electric hybrid, as far as power, the sky is the limit they could make amazing power for a short time, a vane type engine would be able to turn very high RPMs, less moving parts, my 1/2 inch air drill has a lot of power, just make it 10 times bigger

Just like hydrogen, the problem is where do you get the fuel or in this case the compressed air? In Britain, there are 16 hydrogen filling stations compared to 3000 for gas and diesel. Is GM going to build thousands of air compressors all over the country where drivers can get compressed air? And how much would it cost to get the compressed air since its obviously not free.
@hammerheadms
@hammerheadms 25 күн бұрын
It's silly. Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe, and can be made easily. It's also completely carbon emission free when burned. The biggest problem with hydrogen fuel cells is they are very dangerous in a collision. Diesel is very stabil and will not explode without high atomization and compression. Gasoline, as a liquid, is non-flammable. Only it's vapors are explosive. Hydrogen, on the other hand is highly reactive, which makes it unstable. Here in the states we have some trucks and busses running on the stuff, but for anything smaller than a large truck it would probably be a severe explosive hazard on the freeway. Thus the reason I don't see hydrogen fuel cells being the wave of the future.

OK 1. where is the compressor going to be, because it's going to take up a lot of room, in order to compress enough air to even make this viable 2. Air compressors still need oil for lubrication, that oil is mystified into the air, that's going to discharge into the atmosphere, so there is still going to be emissions. that also means, besides the air tanks you're going to have to have, you're going to need an oil reservoir. 3. this has been tried before, and it was not feasible, sooooo

Instead of some type of not carbon friendly energy source to produce electricity to charge batteries, we will have some not carbon friendly device to compress air. Yeah, but wouldn’t the springs were out so you’d have to do more maintenance but overall it be cheaper to run until this spring break. and I know there’s such thing as valve springs but I don’t think Val Springs would be under as much pressure

So where does the energy come from to compress the air. Coal, gas, oil, nuclear ?

100% pollution free? How big of a diesel engine do I need to run the air compressor that compresses the FREE air?

Even years ago with these err engines, they tried over in India and other places they still required oil for the engine. What’s being used to lubricate the engine and it’s still required and alternative fuel in addition to air compression. So what’s being used here?

Compressed air engines need energy also, If not, how did the air compress. Same with EV. Where does the Electricity come from? 68.9% of all electricity world wide comes from Oil and Gas. So, the vast majority of EVs are Gas powered with an electric storage instead of a gasoline tank. Additionally modern cars can last 2 MILLION miles. So the C02 is amortized over 2 million miles. EVs are lasting 70,000 miles. This results in each EV costing the environment 8~12 times the C02 per vehicle Manufactured.

This won't change a damn thing when people can't afford it, forcing them to use older cars that pollute everything.

Concerning the last part of this video, patents are for commercial use but anyone can design and build something for their personal use. If an engine could be powered off of water only then there would be an engineer somewhere on the planet driving a water powered car or powering their house with it. Bottom line is the law of thermodynamics. Separating hydrogen from oxygen still requires alotta energy.

I think it makes more sense to use compressed air to spin a turbine that charges a battery that powers an electric motor. Essentially you can have half the battery the Tesla would give you and three times the range. The compressed air becomes an extension of the battery essentially. Imagine filling your tank with compressed air in less than a minute, and you're on your way. I'm sure the compressed air would be much cheaper than gas too. I just don't see how using the compressed air to move the car is viable. There's just not enough torque or horsepower. A car without balls will not sell in the US. Maybe in San Francisco but that's about it.

That was never a fraud. It really does work. You just don’t wanna admit it so you don’t wanna give any kind of hope to it because that’s another way of making agent work. The problem is when you make hydrogen like that it gets hot, but it won’t explode you don’t have to use compress tanks if you don’t want it..

Conventional reciprocating engines are notoriously inefficient so some derivative liquid fuel will be used until crude oil deposits are exhausted.

With what energy ist the comprssor driven? Electricity in most of the times. So it is more efficient to run an EV directly by this electricity instead of compressing air which also heats up during compression.
