Just got a 1982 mark VI with air ride and the 65A alternator isn’t cutting it. I bought a 140A tuff stuff one wire. So your saying the starter solenoid and voltage regulator isn’t needed anymore. Just run a new cable to the battery and ground to the chassis and that’s it?

Not really much information I did the same exact thing on my 67 mine is a 250 amp alternator not sure if there's any difference but I'm not getting any dash lights but the car doesn't want to kick over when I turn the key

What did you do with the stock wire that you unloomed and retaped? Did u connect it? Or tuck it behind? Thanks

i just tucked it back somewhere, so it could not short out anywhere.

Hi just doing this exact conversion on my 64 sedan. The ignition wire and the accessories wire which are mounted to back of voltage regulator. Do they have to wired to my starter selinoid or do they get taped off?

It's been a few years how's it holding up? I have a bullnose Ford truck I've been trying to clean up the engine compartment, being I have a one wire distributor, looking into a one wire alternator with upgraded amperage that'd be easier for running a radio amp. Nothing big, but I did upgrade to a dual battery setup only for that reason. Just investigating before I end up doing it
