My Dad had a '39 Packard convertible. I was a pre-scooler but remember it well. He'd never put the top down 'cause it would blow Mom's hair all over. However one day she wasn't with us and he put the top down. I was the happiest kid in the world going down Santa Monica Blvd.

An Awesome array of automobiles from just before my time, and few that I remember as a child, The Frazer line I only barely recall the name, but remember a few from several years later, around early to middle 1950's. Prior to this presentation I did not realize how early Studebaker and Hudson had merged. Interesting that they each created a Commodore, look-alikes, at the same time. Great car show. Thanks for the parade review. Simpler times, so many more makes of American cars than later, after many companies began folding. I miss the Studebakers, particularly the Hawks, and the iconic Avanti, from the sixties. I served aboard ship, the USS John King DDG-3, with a Studebaker descendant. He never drew any of his paychecks during his entire time about the ship. Was saving money [which he did not need to use, being funded by his family] for use after he left the Navy. Studebaker company had stopped making cars by that time [early 1970's], but he stood out as proof there was still a family with that name and it still had some of the fortune that Studebaker cars created for them.
