You probably need to put on a hoist. While you change crossmember

Can you purchase the rack and pinion separately?

I have this crossmember kit. The rack and pinion is the same used on 1997-2003 Dodge Dakotas. It won't bolt up to your stock frame or crossmember.

Look up Flaming River. They have a rack and pinion kit for the stock crossmember

The stuff Chevy put under my truck 55 years ago has proven reliable enough that I think I'll leave it alone.
