Re the Flintstones ads: Rather ironic that all four of the main voice actors on the show (Alan Reed, Jean Vander Pyl, Mel Blanc & Bea Benaderet) died of smoking related ailments.

Viceroys really did have a good taste and I liked them except for this one thing, and that was how everytime I took a drag, they had this little annoying bite in my throat. Oh yeah and Camels, they did have a good taste, but they were so strong, I can't believe how people used to smoke them. One drag must have had as much nicotine as a whole pack of those 1970's low tar brands. When I was about 15, I got sick on Camels. Winston was my brand, I smoked Winstons for 20 years until they changed the blend into some cheap stinky who knows what, tobacco or filler, so I switched to Pall Mall until 1990 when I quit smoking. Then I got fat, I gained 140 pounds, diet and exercise useless, got kicked out of the navy and lost my retirement. Smoking was good for me, it kept my weight down. I'd have gone back to smoking, but might have made my weight even worse

It's too bad about how cigarettes have to be so damn addictive and have all the health hazards, it's nice in some ways to have a smoke. I quit almost 40 years ago, but still to this day, sometimes I'd like to have a Pall Mall now and then
