I loved him in the 1960s. I've seen his routines over and over again, I could do them myself. He still makes my jaw ache laughing. A true genius of laughter. Sadly missed. RIP Tommy.

I grew up watching Tommy on a black & white TV. So brilliant. I still laugh & cry. A terrible loss. Thank you Tommy I have a Dalmatian puppy that is a total idiot. I called him Sarge. I'm thinking I should have call him Tommy for the mischief he gets up to. I'm so fortunate to have grown up watching Tommy Cooper

Incredible stamp-up comedian who left us with a bad taste in our mouths when he left our lives on a stage where he had compulsions, I think, and people laughed because they believed he was part of the show because he played a medium. And as you know, sometimes mediums act as if they were having compulsions. Unfortunately, that moment was recorded and was on KZbin for many years until they censored it.

BBH : British Burlesque Humour from the 70's. Tommy was great as a 1-man show. A little clumsy and flat in situation comedy with other actors, though.

I was very surprised to hear, he sadly had a drink problem. Where he was a good magician and comedian, for me, was when he showed how a trick was fake and pretended to say a magic word. Also his one man or other plays he wrote. He died a sad professional death, collapsing on stage.

Many would say he died doing what he loved and that’s better than dying lonely and washed up.

Ive seen it, everyone kept laughing cause they thought it was part of his act but it was very quick RIP Tommy Cooper he was still hugely popular on the telly when i was young even though he died 2 years before i was born, i remember watching him with my late grandparents, allo allo aswell and grandma would watch anything with Cilla Black, i would go back if i could wouldnt even think twice about it not enjoying this millenium👎 😉😅

@markpalmer72157 ай бұрын
That is correct he died on stage at Her Majesty’s theatre live on ITV in front of millions. He collapsed and died and everyone thought it was part of the act & were laughing. He then fell backwards through the curtain & ITV then went to commercial break. When they came Les Dennis & his partner did their routine with curtains closed behind them with Tommy lying there being attended.
