They all had different areas where they shined. Point is they all shined. Loved every one of them and their talent and entertaining us. Great video! Eric Dupont made us all winners by posting this.

Thnak you for avoiding the word "best." Comparing drummers (or pianists or saxists or you-name-its) against each other serves no useful purpose. They're all great in their own way and if you (or I) like one over another, it should not be used to put down the others. Another aspect is the setting. I once heard a group of indigenous drummers in a pueblo in New Mexico. If I had heard them in my home on a recording instead of in the open air in the midst of a ceremony, my perception and enjoyment would have been quite different.

The Buddy Rich solo from 1970 blows everyone away, one of the best of all time.

More angles, more clearly displayed rights and lefts, more and more and more of the same monotone and monotonous not-music-making by Buddy Rich. Awesome drummer, though! Interesting case-study too. People and peepholes pushing Buddy Rich as an incredible musical genius who was better than "everyone" are major contributors to all that is wrong with everything.

Buddy Rich was a drummer child prodigy from the day he quit being a carpet crawler and could stand up and hold drum sticks longer than he was.

Nice video, thanks for posting, I just wish it had a higher definition visually. This looks like a VHS transfer. Was Buddy Rich's snare head ripped in the 1970 performance? It's hard to tell due to the low definition of this video. Obviously, great performances by all!!!

there was a movie called " The Gene Krupa Story " also known as Drum Crazy. concerns his " rise to success and use of Marijuana ". Ps. IMO there is most likely more people that cannot spell Marijuana than those who smoke it. WOW .... he smoked pot. no big deal nowadays .
