Love the sound of that old 567 engine chugging away!

Love the sound of those old Geeps , the 567 prime mover and that Roots blower , brings me right back to when I was a kid watching Western Pacific GP7s switching and kicking cars in East Oakland and at the Ford plant in Milpitas ❤️

The fact the engine is still running at 68 years old shows just how built it is and whats sad is that they simply just don't build anything to last that long anymore, nowadays when they build something they build it to get all the money they can out of it and then when it breaks they simply toss it instead of actually fixing it in order to keep it going so if they ever retire this unit I seriously hope a museum or group considers saving it because it has definitely earned its retirement

love to see old EMD power still running like this, sadly it could be a matter of a couple years that it gets scrapped or stored.

That's not SP #1518. That's Portland and Western #1501. She got bought by a Railway locomotive leasing Co which is run by a really rich Southern Pacific fan named Noah McCann. She's currently still awaiting arrival at the DieselMotive Company Inc of Northern California.

The timeless Portland and Western #1501 doing some switching. Sadly she was taken out of service due to a leak and due to G&W EPA Scandal. Idk why she has a Canadian Transtronic bell instead of EMD Bronze or steel bell. Surprisingly before she was scheduled to be scrapped, DieselMotive acquired PNWR #1501 and she's still awaiting arrival at their site. Who knows what they plan to do with P&W #1501?

This loco is stored, as of Nov., 2023, correct-- as per pending EPA rules??

It's been sold off to a leasing company and has moved east. People have caught it along the way in BNSF manifests.

The owner of the leasing company DieselMotive Company Inc of Northern California known as Noah McCann is a huge Southern Pacific fan and he acquired it probably with the hopes that they'll eventually send #1501 to a museum like he did with GECX #5989.

How long are they allowed to keep that road blocked?
@csxenterprises4 жыл бұрын
elmete8 I’m pretty sure a train can’t block a road for more than 20 minutes unless if it is a crash

They’ve blocked it for much longer than 20 minutes. 1501 is notorious for blocking Queen.

@@samuelsitler5927yeah depending on how much switching needs to be done, the crossing can remain blocked for quite a while
