Great guide and info. I just leveled my first Necro to 50. I've been practicing soloing against the cavalier but I had no idea how I would tackle the lord or other big targets until i saw this.

As a newb to eq, I love these videos, hope u do more of them. One request though if u do more of them, is there to a way to keep camera steady as you narrate because it can be dizzying to watch when you rapidly shake it at times to demonstrate how frustrating a camp is etc. Hope more will come, great job

There was a period before a patch where necromancer pets did not die when you feigned. This room was even easier. You sent in a pet instead of relying on charm and feigned until he died to soften up the room. Then you could use charm or keep doing that. I made a necro just to solo this dungeon. There was nothing else in the game so made for a necro again.

Great video! It's pretty hard to find videos of necro soloing of dungeons in early EQ era.

Can you tell if frenzied has sash by his attack speed? I know in EQ sometimes when mobs have their melee item, it shows. Just wondering..

Yes, they will attack 21% faster, but to be honest I had no idea when killing this- complete pleasant surprise.

U can remember grouping back in the og days of eq, late at night I was the tank it it was obvious when he had the belt. If he didn't have it more or less afterthought for healers if he did. They actually had to heal a bit

Can you make a tour of all of the Everquest P99 dungeons, raid and places of interest with your established / high level character(s)? I want to know the coolest parts of Everquest 1999 although I played Vanilla World of Warcraft and farmed Naxxramas til best in slot on my warrior and then Tier 3 on my melee hunter (who was actually needed in the raid) to see how far I could push myself to find out what good raiding was XD. I want to better understand Everquest yet it takes so much time and I have a love hate relationship with the grind. I downloaded a 3D free camera map viewer of P99 but it lacks mobs and the soul of the experience; it showed the level but not the experience. The best WoW devs were the best EQ players; that is why I farmed naxx with 300 ms ping on a melee character to prove competence to myself that I too could be worthy to create a great RPG series. I'm making my own RPG series / a bunch of RPG video games like older style western RPGs like Baldur's Gate, Diablo, Vanilla World of Warcraft and I feel it proper to understand the root of older RPGs. As in to try and become multigenerational and understand what made these classic games great and learn to make better games. I wish not to emulate greatness when it strikes but to learn how to aim and strike at the very heart of the beast that the greats of the past hungered to vanquish. I wish not to emulate, but to create anew. Right now I'm funding the development of my tank game series and I hope later in the next 2-4 years to restart the funding of my 3D Unity physics based 3rd person voxel RPG series with a bigger team and a proper budget; bit by bit. I watched all of Flatts content and I made a character on P99, a Barbarian Shaman but I've yet to do a proper run with him. I even helped make the P99 wiki world map better on the wiki; I am Within Amnesia. If you could cover more ~raw / full experience Everquest Project 1999 or even if you are really ambitious all of the dungeon content, even the raids you have never done (if any) and points of interest and your favourite places to better educate people like myself; I would really enjoy that. I might even repay you later with a great RPG that is worth playing. That is my dream anyway to make great games worth playing. Players come first.

That's the plan- to run through all the great content in classic EQ. Probably at the rate of 1 or 2 videos a year (I'm not fast, which is why I'm on p99)! I feel there's a place for the "next big thing" MMO on the horizon. I'm not much of a gamer in the sense that EQ is basically the only game I play anymore now that I'm in my 30s, so I may not have my finger on the pulse of the average gamer. One of the draws for EQ players that is rare in other games is immersion and difficulty. The fact that there is no fast-travel in EQ is one of it's greatest features- the world feels vast, wild, and dangerous. I believe that the industry has gravitated toward fast and accessible content to appeal to the masses in an increasingly crowded marketplace, which makes most games pretty forgettable. I'm no programmer or designer, but have had a concept for a multi-faceted MMO in the back of my head for a while. Essentially, it is a classic MMO world with a second-life style megalopolis in the center. In this super city, content may be created and modified as players see fit through democratically elected positions within the city. The city is where people will build their homes, create custom content, build public works, hold competitions, create their own mini-games (DOTA was a custom Warcraft 3 map), etc. The city is composed of 4 quadrants (possibly each with their own theme- western, sci-fi, present day, fantasy), each with an elected council of 3 members. Those 3 council members vote about things in their own district and the 12 vote about major decisions city-wide, there is also an elected "high councilor" which would break ties. A thought I had to grease the gears of its development was a crypto-currency used as in-game currency which would be paid to councilors, so essentially the community would be hiring and paying its own developers (or at least representation) incentivizing competitive elections and rewarding good content and ideas. I also believe if the crypto currency was successful it would drive innovation and the existence of the "game" for many many years. Originally I had envisioned this city as a sort of hub between all games and there would be different "neighborhoods" for popular games with their specific motifs- Rocket League neighborhood, Fortnite neighborhood, Minecraft neighborhood, EQ neighborhood, etc. Players from all games could then interact through a custom avatar in the city with players from many different games and the city would remain a living organism to facilitate interaction with all games in the industry for decades.... Not at all an ambitious project.
