It did see a lot of play in tournaments. But it did not do well on ladder because it had a really poor matchup against Warrior, Face Hunters and Druids. It was a great counter against Handlock and Zoo though.

@@hamishthompson1409 Atleast now you can swap cards around in decks and have deck variety while even off meta decks that noone plays can be rly good. Back then you had to have atleast 29/30 with about 7 decks making the whole meta 3 of them being top tier.

Every class in Classic has a viable deck. Freeze Mage, Handlock, Control/Wallet Warrior, Face Hunter, Amaz/Control Priest, Midrange Shaman, FoN + SR Druid, Control Paladin, and Miracle Rogue. Modern has more viable decks, but much less class variation.

@@cleaved3453 you have to keep In mind there was only the one set of cards to play with and each class had a core group of cards that were like the engine staple of the deck. Its how the class was supposed to be played. Hunter was designed to be more of an aggro class with beast synergy. Every class has their role to play
